Common tasks that you may perform include:
- Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
- Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
- Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
- Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
- Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
- Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
- Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
- Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
- Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding
To apply for this role, you must have:
- Minimum of 5 years’ working experience as a welder
- Must be able to provide at least 3 years recent work references and salary evidences (documents)
- Must have experience welding in different position
- Experience with GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, MMAW is an advantage
- Able to follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and fabrication drawings
- Proficient in all aspects of welding and fabrication including marking out, operation of shearing machines, and assembly in accordance with WPS or fabrication drawings
- Ability to perform different welding positions
- Welding Qualification Test Record (WQTR / WPQTR) is highly regarded
- Good English communication skills
Qualifications:
- High school diploma and at least a vocational diploma, or short course certificate
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience
