🔥 About the Role
As a Metal Fabricator, you’ll be responsible for interpreting technical drawings, preparing materials, and fabricating metal components to exact specifications. You’ll be involved in construction, industrial, or custom fabrication projects while ensuring quality workmanship and safety compliance.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements
- Select, clean, and prepare metal stock for fabrication
- Cut metal sections using hand tools, flame-cutting torches, and cutting machines
- Shape and bend metal parts using tools or by heating and hammering
- Align parts using precision instruments and secure joints through welding, bolting, or riveting
- Perform welding using techniques such as GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and MMAW
- Examine welds for accuracy, bead quality, and penetration
- Finish products by grinding, filing, polishing, or acid-bathing as needed
- Maintain quality control and adhere to workplace safety standards
- Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience as a Metal Fabricator or Boilermaker
- Must provide recent work references and salary evidence (e.g., pay slips, employment certificates)
- Skilled in multiple welding positions
- Experience with GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, MMAW is highly regarded
- Ability to follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and interpret fabrication drawings
- Proficient in metal preparation, shearing, assembly, and finishing techniques
- Welding Qualification Test Record (WQTR / WPQTR) is an advantage
- Good English communication skills
🎓 Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduate with a vocational diploma or short course certificate in welding or metal fabrication
- Minimum of 3 years' relevant work experience
