🍽️ About the Role
As a Chef, you will play a key role in menu development, food preparation, kitchen management, and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and presentation. You’ll bring creativity and efficiency to a busy commercial kitchen environment.
👨🍳 Key Responsibilities
- Assist in menu planning and determining food quantities, portions, and costs
- Prepare and cook food based on recipes or personal expertise
- Monitor and maintain food quality, taste, and presentation
- Train and supervise kitchen staff including Cooks and Kitchenhands
- Order and maintain inventory of ingredients and kitchen supplies
- Ensure compliance with food safety, handling, and hygiene standards
- Collaborate with management on new dish creation and recipe enhancement
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely and efficient service
✅ What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen
- Proven experience with Western cuisine (e.g., French, Italian, Mediterranean) in fine dining or hotel settings
- Skilled in food preparation, plating, costing, and kitchen operations
- Knowledge of stock control and kitchen inventory management
- Strong leadership, time management, and multitasking skills
- Excellent understanding of food safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Able to provide work references and salary evidence (e.g., pay slips, employment certificates)
🎓 Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma and at least a vocational diploma or short course certificate in Culinary Arts or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience
