We are currently recruiting experienced Cabinetmakers to join reputable woodworking and fit-out companies across Australia. If you have a strong background in precision woodworking and enjoy creating high-quality custom cabinetry, this is your chance to showcase your craftsmanship overseas.
🪵 About the Role
As a Cabinetmaker, you’ll work with various wood materials to fabricate, assemble, and install furniture and fittings according to detailed specifications. Projects may include residential, commercial, marine, or specialty interiors, requiring both technical skill and attention to detail.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings, work orders, and sample parts
- Select, measure, mark, and cut materials including timber, veneers, particle board, and synthetic wood
- Shape and machine wood using hand tools and power equipment
- Assemble components to create cabinets, furniture, and fittings
- Fit hinges, locks, catches, drawers, shelves, and other hardware
- Construct detailed cabinetry and interiors for yachts, boats, caravans, or specialty installations
- Make frames for upholstered items like chairs and couches
- Perform furniture repair and restoration as needed
- Maintain accuracy, quality, and craftsmanship in all work
✅ What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Cabinetmaker
- Must be able to provide recent work references and salary evidence (e.g., pay slips, employment certificates)
- Proficient in reading and interpreting fabrication drawings
- Skilled in marine fit-outs or yacht cabinetry is highly regarded
- Confident using both hand tools and power tools
- Good English communication skills
- Ability to deliver high-quality custom cabinetry with precision and care
🎓 Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduate with a vocational diploma or short course certificate in cabinetmaking or woodworking
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience
