We are currently hiring highly skilled Refractory Bricklayers to join our clients’ industrial teams across Australia. If you have solid experience working with heat-resistant materials and are looking to take your skills to the next level internationally, this opportunity is for you.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Study plans and technical drawings to determine materials, dimensions, and installation methods
- Erect and dismantle restricted-height scaffolding as needed
- Seal foundations and spread mortar layers to serve as the base for refractory blocks
- Cut and shape refractory bricks using manual tools and machines for custom fits
- Set out blockwork and lay bricks or blocks in specified rows, patterns, and structures
- Ensure precision alignment of brickwork—level, plumb, and straight
- Install lintels and flashing to wall openings
- Repair and maintain existing refractory structures, including kilns, furnaces, and incinerators
- Assist with base preparations, segmental paving, and related tasks
- Support installation through welding, fabricating, or mechanical maintenance if required
- At least 3 years’ experience as a Refractory Bricklayer
- Strong background in working with high-temperature refractory materials used in furnaces, kilns, incinerators, and similar industrial environments
- Experience in general refractory installation, maintenance, and repair
- Ability to weld, fabricate, or assist in mechanical work associated with refractory structures
- Able to produce a portfolio of previous projects (photos or videos)
- Good English communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to provide at least 2 years of recent work references and salary documentation (e.g., pay slips, government contributions, reference letters)
- High school diploma
- A vocational diploma or short course certificate in a relevant field
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience
- Be part of large-scale industrial projects in energy, mining, and manufacturing sectors
- Work with experienced, multicultural teams in a well-regulated, safety-focused environment
