Common tasks that you may perform include:
- Consults with builders, clients and consultants to understand design requirements and gather feedback on building designs
- Prepares initial design models for engineering and estimation purposes using BIM
- Takes measurements and dimensions, and performs other routine calculations for building or renovation design layouts
- Provides design recommendations to clients based on factors such as budget, building site constraints, and overall feasibility
- Produces architectural documentation for sketch design and to support applications to councils
- Prepares building designs, models, concepts and estimations using CAD, 3D modelling and BIM software
- Ensures building, renovation and extension designs comply with regulations and standards, and client, certifier and consultant requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience as Architectural Draftsperson
- Must be able to provide at least 1 year of recent work references and evidence (documents)
- Advanced knowledge of Revit Enscape and a minimum of 2-3 years of Revit drafting/design experience
- Experience with other design programs, including AutoCAD
- Knowledge of (or a readiness to promptly become acquainted with) relevant Commercial/Industrial Building Codes, Australian Standards, and design guidelines
- Has good communication skills to communicate with clients and completing reports
- Vocational diploma, or short course certificate
- Minimum of 3 years' relevant work experience
