We are currently seeking highly skilled Architectural Draftspersons with experience in structural steel drafting for our clients across Australia. If you are detail-oriented, technically proficient, and experienced in architectural and steel drafting, this opportunity is for you.
📐 Key Responsibilities
- Consult with builders, clients, and consultants to understand design specifications and integrate feedback into drawings
- Prepare preliminary design models for engineering, estimation, and client approvals using BIM
- Take site measurements and perform accurate calculations to support detailed drafting and layout
- Provide design recommendations based on site feasibility, structural requirements, client preferences, and budget
- Produce architectural documentation for sketch design and development applications
- Draft precise structural steel layouts and detailing, ensuring alignment with architectural plans and engineering requirements
- Utilize CAD, 3D modeling, and BIM software (Revit, AutoCAD, Enscape) for design preparation
- Ensure designs comply with applicable Australian Building Codes, Commercial/Industrial standards, and project-specific guidelines
- Coordinate with engineers, builders, and certifiers to ensure project documentation is comprehensive and compliant
✅ What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as an Architectural Draftsperson
- Proven experience in structural steel drafting is essential
- Advanced proficiency in Revit and Enscape with 2–3 years’ hands-on drafting/design experience
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and other architectural or drafting tools
- Familiarity with Australian Building Codes and design standards (or readiness to quickly adapt)
- Strong English communication skills for client coordination and technical reporting
🎓 Minimum Qualifications
- Vocational diploma or short course certificate in drafting, architecture, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience
