We are currently hiring highly skilled Diesel Mechanics specializing in Mobile Plant, Heavy Equipment, or Agricultural Equipment for our clients across Australia. 🛠️ About the Role
As a Diesel Mechanic (Mobile Plant), you will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment and vehicles used in mining, construction, agriculture, and related industries.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in diesel engines and components
- Dismantle, inspect, and repair engine assemblies, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and steering mechanisms
- Replace worn or defective parts and perform reassembly in accordance with service manuals
- Conduct regular maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups
- Use diagnostic tools and computer systems to identify and resolve performance issues
- Test and adjust repaired mechanical components for optimal performance
- Reassemble and test machinery to ensure compliance with roadworthiness and safety standards
- May inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certifications
✅ What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 3 years’ working experience as a Diesel Mechanic for Mobile Plant, Underground Equipment, Heavy Equipment, or Agricultural Equipment
- Experience troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and overhauling major brands including: Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, Hitachi, Sandvik, Epiroc, Atlas Copco, Kubota, John Deere, etc.
- Proficient in using diagnostic software and tools such as CAT ET, Volvo TechTool, Volvo Impact, ECM, and similar systems
- Good English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Able to provide at least 3 years of recent work references and salary evidence (e.g., pay slips, COEs)
🎓 Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma and at least a vocational diploma or short course certificate
- Minimum of 3 years' relevant work experience
